At the heart of St. Gianna's Families is a simple yet powerful idea: when one mother thrives, she lifts others with her.
OUR FOUNDER
Betsy Phillips is the founder of St. Gianna's Families. Launched in 2025, St. Gianna's Families is focused on the empowerment of working mothers. Betsy, a veteran banker for over 20 years and a working mother of twins, was inspired to create the organization to address the increasing challenge mothers face when affording childcare. With prices often rivaling or exceeding the cost of college tuition, many parents-especially mothers-are forced to scale back their careers or leave the workforce entirely. This not only puts financial strain on the families but also contributes to broader economic inequality. Betsy was a single mother of twins working full time when she first realized the emotional and financial struggle of childcare costs. Betsy's hope is that each mother we support commits to giving back when she's able. The cycle of support creates a growing network of empowered women who are not just surviving but building stronger families and communities together. Betsy leads the Loan Syndications Team at Old National Bank. She is married to Sam Tancredi. Along with her twins, Charlie and Cecelia Phillips, she has four step-children; Maureen, Tony, Elise and Mia Tancredi.
